The story of Daffodil - yellow and black feather fascinator
It was the first time she'd been back in the country for Melbourne Cup since she was 19. November was always Angelina's travel to New Zealand month to visit her sister for her birthday. So with her new clients having invited her to their private tent, at Flemington no less, she couldn't say no. She had the dress from a recent wedding she'd been to - it was a classic cocktail style that she felt just gorgeous in. The shoes were sexy but sensible - a lesson she'd remembered from being 19. The whole outfit was planned except the most important part… the fascinator. She couldn't go to the Melbourne Cup without one - that's tantamount to sacrilege. But what style to choose? Should she go outrageous and bold? Her usual instinct would say 'yes! be different!', but she wasn't sure how that would go down with these new clients. Perhaps understated and classic? Can't go wrong with classic, right? Sure, but she didn't want to wear something that 75 other women would be wearing on the day. In the end she opted for colourful and elegant - not too large but not too simple. And as she wandered in across the grass towards the tent, she felt a million dollars… should she take a small punt and see if her luck continued?
